With a grant from the Jasper Newton Foundation, 14 native Indiana trees were planted on the South Newton campus to replace the invasive Bradford Pear trees that were removed in March. With the help of Laura Floyd from Newton County Soil & Water Conservation District and Jamie Reed from Purdue Extension, several classes completed this task! Students also learned about the difference between invasive and native trees.

Come to the Newton County Fairgrounds this Saturday, May 17, from 9:00a - 2:00p!

South Newton Middle School students participated in an exciting STEM Day on Friday, May 9, where Advanced STEM students took the lead in planning and teaching seven dynamic STEM modules. The modules included Bridge Design, Phone Rescue, Science Extravaganza, Drippin' Dash, Pixel Art, and Egg Drop. These hands-on activities showcased the students' creativity and problem-solving skills and allowed them to step into the role of educators, guiding their peers through engaging and interactive learning experiences.
