Each quarter, the middle school tries to do something fun at lunch. Of course, in March, we have to tie it to basketball. Students formed three-person teams and competed in our own NCAA-style tournament, fighting for first place.

South Newton Middle School students recently participated in the 33rd Annual Regional School Art Show, wrapping up this year’s exhibitions in a big way! The middle school show, which opened on March 19, featured more than 130 works of art from 78 talented students representing Rensselaer Central, South Newton, and Kankakee Valley middle schools.
Several pieces were recognized for artistic excellence, including four Best Artwork awards and six Honorable Mentions.
