On Friday, South Newton students toured AdKev in Goodland, Indiana, where they learned about the mold injection company. Pictured with the students is Mr. Rheude, owner and president of the company.
Today, South Newton students learned about the local water bottling production at Premium Waters in Kentland, where they toured the facility, received a forklift demonstration, and learned about water testing procedures.

Today, we celebrate the outstanding work of Keysaunay “Key” Cox for passing her CompTIA Tech+ certification! CompTIA Tech+ certification is a foundational certification program designed to solidify tech knowledge across essential domains and guide students toward a successful career in technology. Congratulations on a job well done!
MS Yearbooks will be in this summer, and students can pick them up at the Open House before school starts or from their Advisory Teachers. Current 8th graders will be able to pick them up in the HS office or from their PRIDE teachers when they return in August.

SUN Meals & SUN Bucks Update – Summer 2025
We’re excited to continue offering SUN Meals at South Newton and in the towns of Brook, Goodland, and Kentland this summer!
Meals are available at no cost to all children 18 and under — no enrollment or registration required.
Please note: The SUN Bucks (EBT) program has been discontinued in Indiana for 2025 and will not be available this summer.

Ms. Gaskin’s 7th-grade Language Arts class brought literature to life this week with an incredible mock trial inspired by The Outsiders! After diving deep into the novel, students took on the roles of lawyers, witnesses, and jury members to decide—was Johnny guilty or innocent? Their creativity, dedication, and courtroom attire truly impressed us. We’re so proud of the hard work and passion they brought to this project!
